The Oswego State women's soccer team beat SUNYIT 6-1 today at Laker Field. Sophomore goalkeeper Toby Klein had a shutout for 89:59 before allowing a goal to SUNYIT's Jane Burroughs with one second remaining.

The Lakers take the first game of the doubleheader 12-3. Andy Salvatore threw eight strong innings allowing two earned runs on six hits while striking out nine for his first win of the season. Outfielder Evan Shaffer laced four singles and drove in a pair for the Lakers.
UPDATE: Oswego took game two by a score of 17-4. They have now won seven straight

SUNYIT Wildcats hurler Adam Shea has just walked in two runs to give the Lakers an 8-1 lead in the bottom of the fourth. Oswego State left fielder Wes O'Connor has a double, a triple and an RBI in his first two trips to the plate. Laker pitcher Andy Salvatore has allowed just two hits through four innings of work while striking out six.

Men's Hoops Beats SUNYIT
Oswego State men's basketball raced out to a 13-point halftime lead and held on for an 81-65 win over SUNYIT at the Campus Center in Utica, N.Y. Wednesday night. Sophomore Mahamoud Jabbi led all scorers with a career-high 26 points and a game-high 13 rebounds. Jabbi connected on 11 of his 17 shot attempts.
Guards Kyle Reuter and Nick Perioli provided a balanced back-court scoring attack. Reuter poured in 15 points and collected three steals at the defensive end. Perioli dished out three assists to go along with his 16 points and five rebounds. Senior Dom White was a solid presence in the paint with three blocks and 11 rebounds.
The Lakers have won 9 of 10 and to improve their overall mark to 17-5. They currently sit second in the SUNYAC West with a record of 11-3. The Lakers will finish their regular season on the road this weekend at Fredonia and Buffalo State. Oswego State is in line to host a conference quarterfinal game Feb 26.

Driscoll Nets 1,000 Points; Women's Hoops Wins 3rd Straight
Oswego State women's basketball overcame an eight-point halftime deficit to beat SUNYIT 82-72 in overtime at the Campus Center in Utica, N.Y. Wednesday night. Senior Sam Driscoll (pictured) knocked down seven three-pointers, one short of her single-game school record, and led all scorers with a career-high 27 points. She became the eighth Laker in program history to surpass the 1,000 point milestone.
Senior Sarah Lombard, who became the program's seventh 1,000-point scorer on Feb. 8, led the front court effort with 20 points and three steals. Center Jessica Collins fell just short of a double-double with eight points and a game-high 14 rebounds. Freshman Traci Bacon chipped in with 16 points and five assists.
The Lakers have now won three-straight games and improved their overall record to 12-10. They are 7-7 in SUNYAC play and remain in third place of the conference's West division. The Lakers have already clinched a spot in the SUNYAC post-season tournament and will play on the road in the quarterfinals Feb 26. Oswego State will finish out regular season at Freonia and Buffalo State this weekend.
