The Oswego State women's basketball team lost 60-46 at nationally-ranked Cortland on Saturday night in a SUNY Athletic Conference game.
Cortland improved to 15-2 and 9-1 in the SUNYAC, and the Red Dragons are currently ranked 22nd nationally by d3hoops.com. Oswego State is 9-9 overall and 4-6 in the conference.
The Lakers managed just 24.6 percent shooting from the field, and Heather Merino was Oswego State's leading scorer with 14 points. Rachel Kohrs added eight points, and Sarah Lombard had 10 rebounds. Cortland was paced by Jessica Laing with 24 points. Sara Cavanaugh scored 13 and Kristin Ciccone scored 11.
The Lakers will host Geneseo on Friday at 6 p.m. and Brockport on Saturday at 2 p.m.

Women's Hoops Lead 21-18 at Half
Oswego State (5-6, 1-3) women's hoops lead Brockport (10-2, 3-0) 21-18 at the half. The Golden Eagles jumped out to a 9-2 lead in the game's first three and a half minutes, but the Lakers answered with a 19-9 run to close out the half.
Rachel Kohrs connected on a pair of three-pointers and leads all scorers with eight points. Senior guard Alaina Hannahs is back in the lineup for the first time since Dec. 4. Oswego State went 2-4 during the point guard's six-game absence.
