Greg Oden has a blog over at YardBarker. In his latest post, written prior to today's surgery, he revealed that he first noticed a problem with his knee a month ago while getting up from a couch. The most entertaining part of the post can be found in the comments section, where user "iDog1976" suggests that Oden try Reiki rather than go under the knife:
Hey Greg,
Not sure if you are familiar with Reiki but it is a Japanese relaxation technique the promotes healing. Sometimes it has dramatic results. I have been attuned to perform Reiki but there are also master Reiki practicioners in portland like my Teacher. I plan on working with my teacher to send you Reiki and would be more then willing to give you a treatment if you wanted one. I urge you to do visualizations of your knee being healed and whole on a daily basis. This will help your body to promote it's healing process.
Fantastic, sound advice. I can't see why the ownership wants that team out of Portland.

Oden Out
The Portland TrailBlazers have announced that prized rookie Greg Oden will likely miss the entire 2007-08 season. The 2007 top overall draft pick had micro-fracture surgery today which revealed cartilage damage in his right knee.
Oden led the Ohio State Buckeyes to the NCAA championship game as a freshman in March. He averaged 15.7 PPG and pulled down 9.6 rebounds for the Bucks in his lone college season.

Zach Randolph is a Knick
Isiah Thomas managed to make some news on draft night afterall. He sent Channing Frye and Steve Francis to the Blazers for Zach Randolph, Dan Dickau and Fred Jones. Randolph was widely criticized in Portland for his poor work ethic and bad attitude. It will probably do him some good to get out of the bright media spotlight in Oregon.
The Wiz took Nick Young with the 16th pick. His mic went out while talking to Stu, so they had to get uncomfortably close to each other...not that Stu could tell (bad depth perception joke, sorry).
The Nets took Sean Williams out of Boston College and Marco Belinelli of Italy will now play for the admiration of Jessica Alba in Oakland.
Javaris Crittenton went 19th to the Lakers. I feel as though he may not be enough to satisfy Kobe's needs. Mitch Kupchak would neither confirm nor deny to Jim Gray that Kobe could be traded. Gray then got him to say that nobody on his team is untouchable. Jim Gray is a sneaky bastard.
The Heat took Jason Smith 20th. Sixers are on the clock, Glenn Sekunda eagerly awaits.
