FOX 11 Heismans Eli; Osi Steams the Ladies

WLUK FOX 11 in Wisconsin is doing their part to make sure Eli Manning has a rough stay in town. The station normally airs Seinfeld reruns at 5:30 P.M. on Saturday afternoons, but not this weekend. Apparently the station caught wind of the fact that Manning's favorite show just happens to be Seinfeld. They have pulled the show from their programming schedule and are allowing their viewers to pick a replacement:

I'm sure this strategy will be equally effective as Lawrence Taylor's.

Meanwhile, on the defensive front it would appear as though Osi Umenyiora had some odd requests granted by a female acquaintance. Said acquaintance has now created a blog to tell all about the experience. Warning, she used a nude photo of herself as the page header. Allegedly, Osi doesn't like toilets all that much. There is no way of telling how valid this story is. It is simply a blog written by an unnamed person, but it is very entertaining.

Peyton Out, Eli In

Eli Manning and the New York Giants have advanced to the NFC Championship with a 21-17 victory in Dallas today.

Manning had a QB rating over 117.1 for the third straight game. He has eight touchdown passes and one interception in his last three outings. Amani Toomer reeled in two TD receptions, including a 52-yard catch-and-run on the game's opening drive.

New York will travel to Green Bay to face the second-seed Packers next Sunday. The Giants have won their past three conference championship game appearances (2001, 1991, 1987). The Packers have won their last two NFC title games (1996 & 1997).

Injuries Plague Giants in Opener

Plaxico Burress and Eli Manning looked like Marvin Harrison and Peyton Manning Sunday night, hooking up for three scores. Manning threw for 314 yards and four scores, but it wasn't enough as Tony Romo also threw for four TDs and ran for another as the Cowboys won 45-35 over the Giants.

The injury bug bit the Giants hard as Osi Umenyiora, Brandon Jacobs, Eli Manning and Sean Dockery were all knocked out of the contest. A team doctor was be seen checking on Manning's right shoulder during the fourth quarter. Manning played through the pain and threw a touchdown to Burress before being slammed to the ground furing an unsuccessful two-point conversion attempt. Jared Lorenzen replaced Manning on the next drive and finished out the game.

Jacobs took a hit that caused his right knee to bend awkwardly early in the game. He sat the entire second half with official word of the injury to come later.

Umenyiora also left with a knee injury. His injury was officially listed as a sprain with more tests pending.
